FAQs

1. Why choose Parikh Wellness Care for intravenous infusion treatment?
At Parikh Wellness Care, we are committed to making each infusion as individualized and effective as possible. Some centers use premixed infusions that may have diminished potency from exposure to light and temperature transitions during shipping. But Parikh Wellness Care levels up by preparing its infusions onsite at the time of your treatment. By keeping the environment stable, we can ensure that all ingredients are impactful and beneficial.

2. Will insurance cover infusion therapy?
Insurance companies may reimburse a portion of the cost for ketamine therapy. However, usually patients must cover IV infusion treatment costs.
Contact Parikh Wellness Care for a consultation to learn more about treatment costs.
-
3. How many treatment sessions are necessary?
At Parikh Wellness Care we collaborate with each patient to customize an individual treatment plan. During consultation we will discuss with each patient how many sessions are required.
-
4. What more should I know about ketamine treatments?
Ketamine therapy is FDA-approved for use as an anesthetic during surgical procedures. Ketamine also can be used “off label” for mental wellness, though it is not approved for treating psychiatric conditions. Still, this does not mean ketamine use is experimental, ineffective, or illegal.
-
5. What safety measures are taken while I’m receiving treatment?
Infusions are done under the direct supervision of Dr. Parinda Parikh, who has been a pioneer in bringing ketamine infusions to Westchester and administering this drug since 2015.
During pre-infusion consultation, the psychiatry team will review your medical history and current medications to evaluate whether ketamine or our other infusions are right for you.
-
6. What are the side effects of infusion therapy?
Typically, infusion therapy side effects are minimal. Though some patients may experience bruising, inflammation, or irritation at the IV insertion site, infusion therapy has few side effects. Some patients may feel nausea after infusion, which can be treated with medication. Patients commonly feel tired or groggy after a session, but this typically goes away after a night’s rest. Still, serious symptoms, such as allergic reactions, are a possibility but are rare occurrences. Please discuss allergies or other concerns with the treatment team.
-
7. Am I able to drive after treatment?
We highly recommend that patients do not drive or operate any dangerous machinery until the next day after treatment.
