What we do
Reclaim
Ketamine Infusions can provide relief from symptoms of depression and other mental health disorders in just minutes. Ketamine is a dissociative drug that acts on chemicals in the brain.
Benefits and Ingredients
Though it can produce visual and auditory distortion and a detachment from reality, ketamine is believed to repair damage to the brain caused by cortisol and other long-term stress hormones. Unlike prescription medications, which may take a few weeks to kick in and require constant dosage monitoring, some patients find that ketamine infusions provide relief sooner, sometimes within a few days of the second or third infusion.
IV ketamine infusion therapy is recommended for those who suffer from treatment-resistant depression and other mood disorders. For those with more chronic depression, they may find that symptoms often worsen before improving over time, as treatment progresses in stages.
Treatments are in a relaxing environment where patients are monitored during the two- to four-hour infusion therapy sessions. Ketamine treatment requires several rounds of infusions. Each infusion has a controlled dosage, allowing patients to receive balanced support.

Ketamine FAQ
-
1. What is Ketamine?
Ketamine is an FDA-approved synthetic narcotic medication that medical professionals have used for decades to provide pain relief and as an intravenous anesthetic. The drug is now used to treat addiction, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as for chronic pain and conditions such as fibromyalgia. In addition, the intranasal form of esketamine, branded as Spravato or by other names, is approved for treatment-resistant depression.

2. What is a ketamine infusion?
Ketamine infusions work differently from traditional medicines, which may require regular intake to have lasting effects. In some instances, patients find that the medications are ineffective and fail to treat the disorder. On the other hand, ketamine infusions work faster and are more efficient as part of a treatment regimen. Instead of targeting neurotransmitters as SSRIs and other traditional medications do, ketamine aims to radically change neural passageways and help develop healthy neurons as if resetting the brain’s connections. In many cases patients experience life-changing relief.

3. What is the infusion process like?
Patients at Parikh Wellness Care receive treatment in a beautiful, relaxing private room. The patient doesn’t have to disrobe. If the patient prefers, a family member or friend can stay in the room during treatment.
The ketamine injection will be done intravenously, during which the patient’s vitals may be monitored. The procedure does not involve any incisions or sutures. During the infusion, patients can use eyeshades and/or earbuds and listen to calming music. We suggest going into the experience with goals for treatment in mind. This makes the dissociative phase – during which the brain works to repair itself – as beneficial as possible. Staff will continue to monitor the patient every few minutes during treatment.

4. Are there possible side effects with ketamine infusions?
With every treatment and medication there are possible side effects. Some patients experience nausea, temporary hallucinations, or a lack of appetite. However, these effects are often short-lived and mild. Patients commonly feel tired and groggy after an infusion but feel better after resting overnight.
